In case you haven’t heard of Vote Mama and all of the important work they do, they are they are making it easier for moms to run for office, and win!
Vote Mama is the first PAC in the country dedicated to increasing the political power of Democratic moms by disrupting the systems that hold women back through direct financial support, mentorship, and endorsements. Since its founding in 2019, Vote Mama has helped over 350 democratic moms run for office up and down the ballot across the country. In the 2022 cycle alone, Vote Mama PAC helped elect 105 mamas in 26 states:
- 10 to federal office, 7 to statewide office, 62 to the state legislature, 11 to the city council, 10 to local office and 5 to school board
- 41 of those elected are BIPOC, 31 are the first women to hold their office, 36 are first time moms to hold their office
Vote Mama also launched The Vote Mama Lobby last year, an app to help power a grassroots army of moms and allies to create a formidable voting bloc to elect & support mamas. The app includes opportunities to volunteer for Vote Mama endorsed candidates and take collective action to advocate for policies that matter to us.
More women in office means more policies that uplift women and working families. However, women, especially moms, have unique barriers when running for office and too often don’t have a seat at the decision making table. Vote Mama is working to alleviate those barriers— and it is more important now than ever.
I hope you can join me on Thursday, April 20th to support this critical work and celebrate all Vote Mama has been able to accomplish in the last four years— and they are just getting started! The GirlieGirlArmy.com crew will be there in full effect – come hang with us!
Click here to RSVP, and if you can’t make it, I hope that you will consider making a contribution to this incredible organization here. If you have any questions, please reach out to Cameron Hellerman from Team Vote Mama at [email protected].
