Lunachick Gina Volpe Releases Punk PSA During Covid19

Gina Volpe (guitarist of legendary NYC punk band Lunachicks) released this animated video for her tune “Don’t Touch Your Face” serving as a Public Service Announcement amidst the Corona Virus pandemic.  The song is a one minute tongue in cheek punk anthem that provides a window into Volpe’s own manic internal dialog. Driven by the anxiety we are all feeling about doing everything we can to not spread the virus (and not get sick ourselves) Volpe provides a momentary distraction from these dark days with this hilarious, yet helpful, earworm.

“It started as my 20 second hand washing song. But then I began singing it in my head because I became aware of just how much I like to touch my face. It helped remind me to stop touching my damn face!”

Teaming up with Director and Animator, Leah Shore (Cartoon Network, Google, MTV). Shore perfectly encapsulates the song’s message by featuring a cat violently correcting his human’s habitual face touching, ultimately binding and gagging him S&M style.
