Ethical and size-inclusive options are hard to come by in the fashion world, and there’s no market more underserved from ethical fashion than plus size moms.
Enter Leche Libre, a conscious, fashion-forward breastfeeding apparel collection created to empower women to nurse or pump discreetly any time, anywhere – in style. After raising over $40k on Kickstarter last year to launch Leche Libre, they have returned to Kickstarter for our first ever plus size collection for moms sizes 16w – 26.
Leche Libre founder, Andrea Newberry, wanted to create a collection that would give plus moms access to the same zip-and-sip concept that made the first Kickstarter successful. “The average American woman is size 18, and over half of nursing women in the US have no options for stylish breastfeeding clothing. Leche Libre is going to change that.” Newberry says. Teaming up with plus fashion designer Casey Sunich and inclusive wardrobe stylist Kat Eves, Newberry has designed a truly body positive plus collection that celebrates moms’ curves in all shapes and sizes. Woman-Mom owned and conscious ethics – that’s most certainly best for babe and Mom!
The important deets:
+ Ethically and locally made in the USA
+ Sustainably sourced – all fabrics are sourced from recycled remnants and/or sustainable textiles
+ Fewer, better things – they only create versatile closet staples that you can wear for multiple occasions and venues, so you’re able to do more with less.
They have 20 more days to reach $12k and are about 30% of the way there now, check out their kickstarter here;
