Spring break is finally here! It’s a time for teenagers and young adults to forget about the stress of school and party hard. Spring breakers often prepare for their vacation months in advance – booking accommodation, looking at fake ID reviews, and buying alcohol to make sure they definitely have a lit time. Plus, you’ve got to make sure you look amazing while celebrating spring break!
If you’re a parent, you may be currently marveling at your kids on a beach. If you’re a student, you may be on your way to a series of one night stands on the beaches of Fort Lauderdale. If you’re somewhere in between – you’re at work dreaming of the summer, and “oh man, I need a new bathing suit!” A great set of vegan-colored blonde highlights? Check. Conscious swimwear? Check. Flowing, organic, handmade dresses that don’t constrict you in the least bit? Done. Resistance-minded ethics? Le duh.
Here are the 10 conscious beaching items we are living for this spring break that will follow us tits-deep into summer;
DAY-TO-NIGHT WEAR!
Suffice it to say, we are obsessed with Kuychia Cauldron’s clothing line (check out her Instagram, it’s clear why.) She only uses sustainable materials and hand-dyes all her gorgeous pieces using natural dyes only! Her work is like stepping back into the genius style moments of the 70’s. Her description of how she works; “Each piece we create is one of a kind. We work solely with our hands, without guides, and honor the power and spirit of improvisation.” Madly. In. Love.
Here she is with her baby.. could you just die? Perfection!
Luxe eco 100% recycled poly sundress that looks like a million bucks, but can easily work with flip flops and beach hair? Done.
A sweet sundress perfect for gardening or mimosas with your homies. Designed in New Orleans, made fairly in Bangalore, under $100. Win/ win.
SWIM!
A perfect black suit, eco-friendly and made in the USA by EcoSwim, with enough personality to make you pop! Check out the display of how their sustainable fibers come to be!
EcoSwim also blows it out of the water with this perfect beach cover up – made from recycled materials. It’s a perfect cover up in every single way, and comes in both black and white.
For serious prettiness, and ultimate thinning, this Miraclesuit will have you sucked in and pushed up – in all the right places! The tie-dye vibe helps us feel more hippy/ festival and less crone.
The perfect bikini for someone who likes to move and not have her business flopping around, this eco bikini from Vaute Couture is a must.
SHADES!
For fun, these cheapies make a statement without saying a word, plus if you are the type who tends to lose things.. you won’t feel horrible when your sunglasses cost under $10:
For pure, luxe comfort, these sunnies will be your day go-to. They fit perfectly on the top of your head when pushed up (sort of like a headband), and the lens tint is perfection, and they last forever.
It doesn’t get cooler than this classic 80’s run dmc vibed pair of glasses from Stella McCartney. They are incredibly made and match everything. You’ll go from drab to amazing with a pair of dope shades like these.
