The endocrine system is made up of all the glands in your body and the hormones produced by those glands. Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that interfere with this system. These are particularly dangerous for the still-developing systems of fetuses, infants, and children. Some health impacts include lower IQ, birth defects in reproductive systems, obesity, diabetes, and thyroid irregularities.
Did You Know?
BPA & phthalates are endocrine disruptors, along with lead, mercury, arsenic, and many fire retardant chemicals.
Phthalates are used in many soft plastics, to make it flexible.
When “fragrance” is listed as an ingredient, it is usually made up of one or more types of phthalates.
BPA was first created as a synthetic estrogen, and is now used in many hard plastics and tin-can linings.
Chemicals in non-stick cookware can stick to you. Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are also in stain- and water-resistant coatings on clothing, furniture, and carpets.

Suzanne Price is on a crusade to make it easier for parents to create a healthy, beautiful home for their children. Previously a Senior Equity Research Analyst focusing on the Green Living Consumer Sector at ThinkEquity, a San Francisco based investment bank, Suzanne spent years studying organic consumer products and learning about the impact of toxic chemicals on our bodies. She quickly realized that there was no one place where she could shop that carried all natural baby products and employed knowledgeable sales people. Thus, her exquisite natural and organic children’s boutique, Sprout (with nationwide locations – plus a great online shop) was born. Sprout houses safe, healthy, and adorable baby products all under one roof, each being individually stamped with Suzanne’s seal of approval.
