Elroy ain’t just a character from The Jetsons, it’s a new eco clothing line that we are just mad for!

Elroy Apparel is a spanking new clothing line made of sustainable and socially responsible fabrics.   This line proves what we’ve been saying all along; that conscience shopping does not have to mean sacrificing style OR glamor one single bit! Fabrics like 100% Organic Cotton, hand-woven bamboo, and tencel dominate this totally cruelty-free collection!   Think perfect trench coats, shift dresses that are universally flattering, and trendy pieces that will stand the test of time.

Hailing from the green capital of Canada, Vancouver, BC native Leanne McElroy is one of the fresh faces in the west coast fashion scene. Gone are the days of the “granola-looking” clothing, McElroy (a committed vegan) is here to help usher in the new generation of socially responsible clothing.

Leanne working it and proving vegan = glam.
Leanne working it and proving vegan = glam.

Leanne noticed you could buy organic foods everywhere, but where was all the clothing? Casual leisure clothing was bringing organic, sustainable materials into the marketplace, but there was nothing available for the woman looking for socially responsible materials outside of yoga class and hacky sack tournaments. No flashy prints or run of the mill screen printing in this line, she uses the texture and drape of the fabrics for the designs to take shape and come to life. McElroy’s talent lies in the details, using the fabrics to add life to the garments. Elroy was the first and only Canadian brand to show at Portland Fashion Week for spring/summer 09.   Leanne says; “The impact of materials on our lives cannot be understated. Deciding to use eco-friendly materials has a far reaching, positive effect on us and the future generations. The more that we are made aware of the damaging effects we as a society are putting on the earth, the more we are looking to ways we can lessen our footprint.”   We couldn’t agree more.   Shop this line, and support this innovative sister.
