Cynthia King Dance Studio Helps Brooklyn Get Vegucated

Cynthia King Dance Studio Helps Brooklyn Get Vegucated With a Free Screening of the Award-Winning Documentary! In BROOKLYN, NY, January 15th, 2012 – Cynthia King Dance Studio will host a free screening of the award-winning documentary, Vegucated, at 3pm.

The film follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks. Lured by true tales of weight lost and health regained, they begin to uncover the hidden sides of animal agriculture that make them wonder whether solutions offered in films like Food, Inc. go far enough. Before long, they find themselves risking everything to expose an industry they supported just weeks before. But can their convictions carry them through when times get tough? What about on family vacations fraught with skeptical step-dads, carnivorous cousins, and breakfast buffets? This accessible, entertaining documentary showcases the rapid and at times comedic evolution of three people who share one journey and ultimately discover their own paths in creating a kinder, cleaner, greener world, one bite at a time.

“I was so thrilled by the fun and positive take on such a serious subject I wanted to share this film’s message with my neighbors and community,” said Artistic Director, Cynthia King.

The newly expanded Cynthia King Dance Studio, located at 1256 Prospect Avenue, provides a welcoming and accessible venue for this important Brooklyn premiere. After the screening, viewers are invited to stay for conversation and free vegan refreshments. RSVP on Facebook.
