These are unprecedented times that call for unimaginable optimism. While I was taking a hot shower last night, I thought “aahh.. at least hot showers are still so delicious..” I decided to revel in that moment and take it a step further, I used the beauty products in my closet and exfoliated and put on great creams – what else is currently right under my nose and still wonderful? My corner full of plants with chunks of sunlight? GLORIOUS! The comfiest ever softest bed that feels like 60 clouds? SCORE! Great sex with my love? YES! Going on Pinterest to search for tattoo inspiration for when all this ends? FUN! Hilarious text chains with my sisters? SO AWESOME. The divine is right under our noses, MAKE A LIST. The list helps – here’s mine. Go back to it and keep it on the fridge for the times you want to pull your hair out for being stuck indoors this long. This, like all other things – both great and awful – will end, but you’ll never forget how lucky we are to even have this little joys. I keep telling my kids, we aren’t in tents in the desert or caged in jail cells – we are in our own homes full of creative comforts and teensy little bits of bliss. Seek out the happy in the gunk. You got this.
