Valerie! Thank you- thank you- thank you!! Somehow some wool slipped past our vegan fingers! We have dumped the offenders immediately and replaced them with an even cuter (and TRULY cruelty-free) pair! What would we do without you?? I would love to know where I can get a faux leather jacket that is also ethically made.
I would like to know girliegirl opinion of buying used leather from a thrift store.
I’d say you are better off buying used faux leather, bc wearing real leather promotes wearing skins by default of wearing it. If you look good in it, you are going to make other people want to buy vintage leather. It’s a supply and demand issue. The vintage shops then start buying more leather, and more leather is made. Plus, most designers take inspiration from the vintage clothes good looking young people wear. Ergo, fur coming back the way it did last year. Vintage stores were overwhelmed w it after the furry 80′s. Ppl dumped their furs in consignment shops and goodwills and young folks on a budget snapped it up, made it look cool, and designers started implementing fur again. It’s a hard call because I understand the allure (eco wise) of buying vintage leather, but my commitment to animal rights comes before my ecological ego.
