The Ethical Fall Fashionista
An ethical fashionista has no tolerance for wool, fur, or leather in her wardrobe. Animal skins and hairs on our pristine flesh? Goddess, no! Why would we even consider the animals coats as our own when fantastical alternatives abound! Some of our current Fall faves:
BIKER JACKETS (CUZ WE ARE ALL HOT FOR THE BLONDE FROM “SONS OF ANARCHY”):
Too early for winter coats, too late for army jackets… the biker jacket will get you through the next few weeks looking chic and tough .
HANG ON TO YOUR PURSE, MARY.
It’s chilly, so put away those roomy summer hobo bags, which stop looking right come October, and say yes to more structured bags. Since most of us end up in black pea coats and puffers, try to keep your bag colorful to enliven your spirit and your outfit!
WOOL-FREE SWEATERS ARE NOT A MIRAGE:
Why don’t we wear wool? Read our article all about it. Then get on the cruelty-free, warm and cozy train! Beep Beep!
OXFORDS ARE NAUGHTY:
We just showed you some of our favorite boots here and here, but what about our favorite fall shoes? Think librarian who moonlights as a high fashion stylist. There is nothing cuter than a gal in a vest, button down, and flat oxfords. Don’t forget the nerdy glasses!

Valerie! Thank you- thank you- thank you!! Somehow some wool slipped past our vegan fingers! We have dumped the offenders immediately and replaced them with an even cuter (and TRULY cruelty-free) pair! What would we do without you?? Thanks for noticing our slip and SORRY to anyone else who noticed our snafu! Editrix Cj*
(10.05.2009 3:03 pm)oh such a great post! i wrote a list of some other leather-free shoes i found online and posted them on this link:
http://forum.lookbook.nu/show/797-cruelty-free-shoes
(note just that not all of them have been officially confirmed to be vegan, that is, i’ve only seen on their description no animals-based products mentioned).
