The one thing I miss the most about my pre-eco conscious days was that lovely (albeit chemical) smell that emanated from the laundry machine when the loads were in full effect. Those fluffy, perfumed clothes were heaven to put on my 90’s angst-ed bod. Meet the 00’s when we all got hip to what we were putting on (and in!) our bodies – and it was clean, non scented brands all the way. If you like a non scented detergent, great – but I missed a beautiful smell coming off my clothing.
Enter: Dirty Labs – the next generation of green cleaning, created by a scientist and designer team who were frustrated with the fact that many green cleaning products on the market simply…didn’t work. They were also frustrated with the mis-marketing in the industry as a whole—most competing detergents have caps that cause you to use 5x as much detergent as necessary.
So, they set out to create products that were honest and safe for people and the planet without compromising effectiveness.
Dirty Labs’ green chemistry approach starts with their first product—a laundry detergent that uses Phytolase™️—an enzyme-driven cleaning technology—rather than harsh chemicals, to clean your clothes. Many green cleaning competitors focus their sustainability efforts on packaging—Dirty Labs focuses on the ingredients in the bottle as much as the bottle itself. The bottle is GORGEOUS, stainless steel, elegant, and chic! I’d never be embarrassed to display it on my shelf in any room in the house.
It’s so good, it’s not even available yet. Yea, you read that right. This is an advance heads up that we’ve found the holy grail. They’re launching in early October with two versions of their detergent—Free & Clear and Signature—which are both more than 98% bio-based. That signature scent though!!! It’s Bergamot, Cedar, and Magnolia – and smells like a fancy Le Labo perfum or the most gorgeous organic oils money can buy. I just washed my towels in it, and felt so luxe coming out of the shower!
To get a heads up when they come up – head back here (*make sure you you’re on our once weekly mailing list!) and we will link to where you can buy it right here!
