  1. […] Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (who just opened up their first retail location on Manhattan’s Lower East Side!) […]

  2. I love OCC! The only thing I have trouble finding as a vegan who LOVES makeup is a really great blush. I love that hot, flushed look but most loose pigments turn me orange. Any suggestions?

  3. Yegads! Orange is not a good look. What’s your coloring like, Nicole–do you have warm (yellow/olive) undertones or cool (pinkish) undertones? Also, what products have you been using and not having success with? As the GGA resident artist, I’ll recommend something for you!

  4. Ah thanks Eden! Funny, I forwarded your website to a friend who is looking for a bridal makeup artist the other day :-) I think I am yellow/olive? Not really sure, which may be the problem. I am Italian with very light skin. I have tried Ecco Bella, Urban Decay, and a number of different mineral blushes. The ONLY one that doesn’t turn orange on me is Zuzu is Nymph, if that helps. Hugs to you!

  5. Ah ha! Nymph has a cool/blue undertone to it, and if that’s the only one that looks good on you, then you probably need something that is more of a proper pink and not an apricot or a coral.
Try Christopher Drummond in Petal Pink, or e.l.f. in Joy–you can use e.l.f.’s Pink to contour that, if you layer your blush. Feel free to email me with any other questions!

  6. Ah thank you dear!! I am ordering both today. You rock :-)

The store itself looks very appealing.I love how you have kept vegan with the decorating of the store!
