During this cold and flu season, here’s Kendra Coppey Fitzgerald, nutrition & fitness expert, and founder of The Postpartum Sisterhood‘s go-to recipe for the popular Turmeric Milk. Turmeric Milk, also known as GoldenMilk is loaded with anti-oxidants, may help reduce inflammation and sore joints, is said to improve memory and mental function, and more. What mama can’t use a little support in these areas?! And it’s so soothing and delicious to boot.
Make it:
Turmeric Milk / GoldenMilk
(serves 4)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of milk of choice (we love almond, hemp, coconut or cashew milk)
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tsp raw honey, or to taste (optional, if vegan replace with vegan honey or date honey)
- Pinch of black pepper (increases absorption)
- Tiny piece of fresh, peeled ginger root
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Boil milk and ingredients together for 5-10 minutes. Strain into a cup, and enjoy immediately!
