When I went to the World Peace Yoga conference to speak a few years ago in Cincinnati, the last thing I expected to find was incredible food. Yoga conferences are usually a smelly culinary collision of mushy lentils and sad sprouts. So imagine my surprise when the food at this conference blew the roof off half of the most gourmet restaurants here in NYC!
On a quest to improve the planet one vegan bite and one yoga pose at a time, Ohio-based comrades Mark Stroud (the mastermind behind my delicious meals and Culinary Olympic award-winning vegan chef) and Anna Ferguson (nationally known yogini and founder of World Peace Yoga – the top yoga studio in Cincinnati) have joined forces to expand on Dr. Will Tuttle’s The World Peace Diet with a peace-promoting crowdfunding campaign that we have to get behind.
If you’re familiar with the work of Dr. Tuttle you’ll love this DWT-endorsed endeavor. As Dr. Tuttle’s World Peace Diet celebrates its tenth anniversary, Stroud and Ferguson are seeking to expand the message of compassion for all beings as laid out in his seminal book. Money is being raised for two World Peace Diet companion publications — World Peace Diet Cookbook and World Peace Yoga — and a nationally-available line of organic, gluten-free, sugar-free, vegan products, collectively called World Peace Diet Cuisine.
I’m proudly writing the foreword for the cookbook, and genius photographer Jesse Fox is photographing both books. With an incredible “peace team” and endorsements from Stic of Dead Prez, Afya Ibomu, John Pierre, Trevor Hall and other inspiring individuals, vegan advocates and yogis, these projects are worth checking out.
