Super-foods for a Super Body!

A SUPER FOOD SMOOTHIE for SUPER LIVING! This smoothie will have you going for hours! Takes 10 minutes and you can drink it on the go or bring it with you for that oh-so-certain crash time during your day!

  • 2 cups Hemp Milk (or whatever you love i.e. Oat, almond, brazil nut)
  • 1/4 cup raw cacao nibs
  • 2 TBL Maca
  • 1/4 cup Goji berries
  • 1/2 cup Acai berry (or blueberry, blackberry, strawberry, etc)
  • Dash of Raw Honey or Agave Nectar — And blend!!!

    Wow! This completely makes sense to me.

    I’ve been eating Raw 3 days a week and I’m committing to a fully Raw, Vegan, Organic diet over the 40 days of Lent and I cannot wait to see how my outlook and my body evolve. I am keenly aware of how different I feel after a raw meal; energized, vibrant and satisfied on a level beyond just my hunger disappearing.

    I’m a raw foodie and I just made the smoothie but I added frozen acai and strawberries, five kale leaves, Sun is Shining powder, a few drops of chocolate stevia and some bee pollen on top. I have enough to sip all day!

    Just a quick question. I’ve been vegan for a while but have only recently been doing research into going raw. Where do rawk stars get their protein? I’m not big on sprouted beans by the way so that’s out. xoxo

    Great question, you are able to get your protein from many sources! No worries about having to eat sprouted beans!
    There is protein in EVERYTHING you eat… broccoli, spinach, sunflower sprouts, nori, peas, and the list goes on…. Veggie protein is 80% more absorbable than animal flesh protein which is at the low end of 20%!
    Here are some COMPLETE protein sources:
    Hemp Seeds
    Chia Seeds
    Goji Berries

    when you add these complete protein sources to your already protein rich diet, you are sure to get the proper intake. If you are an advanced athlete, you would want to add some extra special treats, however, for the whole of us who on average do some yoga and hit the gym a few times, eating a balanced diet is the best for our body!

    I have lived an organic lifestyle for many years but included a lot of meat into my diet thinking I needed it for protein. Making hemp, goji berries, and other superfoods my main source of protein have given me new energy, balanced hormones, and a smaller waistline! I feel better than I ever have! It’s never too late to refine your diet – I’m 58 years old and started changing my diet two years ago.

    Gab, I LOVE your recipes! They rawk! I have had the distinct pleasure of eating many of Gabrielle’s creations which all have been just absolutely amazing! I never thought raw could taste SO great! She amazes me, she teaches me and has helped me to evolve more and more with this new pathway to health and living. I am almost 54 y/o and learning new ways daily and have been able to maintain my 50 pound weight loss over the last year due to much of Gabrielle’s help and suggestions!     Hey there G, I love the smoothie concoctions with the superfoods. My only concern was with finding some raw acai berries. Where, outside of Brazil, can you find these little guys? I know I could get the Sambazon Brand frozen pure pulp acia- which makes the best smoothie with the cacao nibs and hemp milk- but that stuff is Flash Pasteurized!!! The powder is cool, but I want to raw effect. Ever had fresh acai berries straight out of the lush forests in Belo Horizante, Brasil? I have and let me tell you… there is nothing like it. It’s truly a superfood when eaten raw, but what about when frozen?

    Tali – I believe that frozen is an okay way to go… freezing stops growth, or slows it down…. so, if frozen when fresh you are getting most of the optimal benefits! Also great during the Winter when craving berries or certain veggies!!!

    I’d really like to look into a raw diet…but I have no idea where to begin! Can anyone suggest any books? I’ve had chronic gastrointestinal issues for over 15 years now and I’m on a constant mission to eliminate my problems. I went vegan (after being vegetarian for a couople of years) about 3 years ago, and it worked wonders for my stomach at first, but I’m afriad I’ve fallen into the processed vegan foods trap…no surprise my stomach problems have worsened in the last couple of months. I really would love to go more than three days without having to take medications which drain the energy from me..maybe looking in a raw diet would be a good start? Any suggestions?
