Nina Dornheim is a fashion designer from Germany, but based in New York, who went on a quest for fashion with a clear conscience after working for fast fashion brand Zara. Nina launched studio-842, a seasonless collection combining deconstructed vintage with rare originals and new designs. As a result, many pieces are one-of-a-kind and “tell decades of unique stories.” studio-842 is inspired by the cradle to cradle design philosophy, which believes that industry can have a positive effect on people and the environment. The collection is romantic, but practical and wearable. But don’t expect to order it online or find it in your local department store just yet, as Nina says; “I have decided to keep the collection completely one-of-a-kind and therefore I am not selling it online. It makes more sense for people to feel the fabrics and to be able to try the pieces on.” If you’re in the NYC area, email [email protected] to book an appointment to view or shop the collection live and in person.
