A former rock n roll star New York Jew turned in-demand interactive designer and a Canadian Korean engineer meet on a geeky Vintage Rolex lovers forum and connect over their mad love of the classic time piece. Nope, this isn’t the start of a racist knock knock joke. This is what happens when brainiac creatives put their respective noggins together to fuel an artistic mission – to reinterpret a classic – the Rolex (Big Crown) 6538 Submariner.

These two unlikely besties have done something nobody else has managed to do – build an endlessly unique Rolex – using only Rolex parts but customizing it in an exclusive process endemic to the Tempus Machina brand.

The look to this watch is extremely unique to any real watch lover, but what makes it cool (real cool – like James Dean having a martini with Hunter Thompson – not oiled up geriatrics at Cipriani grinding on Russian escorts) is the modern conveniences of a new watch with the look and story of a vintage piece of art.

Obviously this gorgeous piece of work isn’t cheap (think over 20k) but it’s a limited edition that only 50 people will have, they only launched today and when we caught wind of this extremely unique watch, we had to share!

Why is it on GirlieGirlArmy? Because we believe in things that last, that don’t get tossed out or broken. Luxury items like this (that are made in small custom batches by classic watch-makers owned by amazing people) are green in the sense that they are savored and kept from generation to generation. Plus – we are suckers for a woman in a luxe men’s watch.
