It Girl Arden Wohl Reveals Capsule Collection For Cri de Coeur

Arden Wohl is the true definition of an “it girl” – she sports a signature headband and frequently shows up as a boldface name in gossip columns and in Vogue as a “what to wear” renaissance girl of the moment.  She’s also a philanthropist, filmmaker, pastry chef, and socially conscious activist, and she infuses her every passion with intellect, zeal, and inimitable style. As a true ingénue with distinct personal sense of style, famed for her eccentric fashion choices (and enviable aforementioned headbands), Arden has played muse to a host of design houses and now the uptown girl with downtown style adds designer to her growing resumé, due to her new collaboration with ethical vegan contemporary accessory line Cri de Coeur.

Motivated by a love for high design and a desire to bring environmental awareness to the fashion industry, artists and activists Julie Dicterow and Gina Ferraraccio formed accessory label Cri de Coeur (French for “cry from the heart”) in 2008. The brand quickly shot to pioneer status in the eco-fashion industry, and the duo soon found themselves leading the dialogue on eco-design in the fashion world. Cri de Coeur proudly uses only the most low-impact materials (reclaimed wood, organic hemp, and Ultrasuede made from recycled plastics) to create the most sought-after, cruelty-free accessory line in the world.

The Arden Wohl x Cri de Coeur collection retails for under $500.00 and is available in-store and online for Spring 2014.

This collaboration answers the modern desire to balance a honed social conscience with living stylishly and well – for footwear at least, this solution comes in the form of fashionable, responsible, high-quality footwear.

Arden Wohl x Cri de Coeur is inspired by Twentieth Century symbolism, specifically the work of Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. The 14-piece collection features an eclectic assortment of bold plum and tangerine shades, plus playful floral prints with low, unexpected lucite heels and the most supple of alternative silks and leathers. The chic loafers, open-toe booties, and elegant flats take a step in the right direction for both green and gorgeous design, and the collection is entirely made in safe, responsible, and fairly waged factories.
