The Penny is Beyond Skin’s best selling eco friendly lace up this AW’11 season. Part of their Boutique Collection, this style is made using the finest quality cruelty-free materials including the exquisite ‘dinamica’ faux suede that is made from 100% recycled bottletops. On another compassionista note; Beyond Skin has just launched their first ever ‘Basics Range’ for Fall 2011 which makes us very happy. This is a range of wearable and affordable footwear all under £100/ $160, creating a selection of shoes that are more  “approachable” for everyday wear. Featuring styles such as cute flat pumps with cushy inserts, kitten heels and lace ups, these are really wearable and some of the most well made vegan shoes we’ve ever worn.

  1. Very cool. Love that they are made out of recycled bottletops. They’d go great with my recycled billboard or recycled tire purse. They make me want to wear heels again (I’ve mostly stuck to ballet flats and boots after I broke my foot a few years back).

P.S. I’m not on Facebook, so I tweeted about them.

  2. Angee says:

I want to win the Beyond Skin Herringbone Lace ups because they are so cute!!! I have a child in college so I will not own them unless I can win them. ;)I reposted the article on my FB so all my friends will learn about the cute shoes made from recycled bottletops. Fashion can be gorgeous and cruelty free!

  3. Ann Lang says:

  4. kh says:

OMG I LOVE these! They are like the Miu Miu shoes but cruelty free…how beautiful and chic!

  5. Ashley A. says:

These shows are fantastic! They are so gorgeous and cruelty-free! I love that they are made from recycled bottles. I would really love to win them, because I am a grad student and I am about to start an internship in a NYC museum. They would be perfect for interning! Plus, as a grad student, I really don’t have the funds to buy too many shoes….Please help me spread the good word about vegan clothing options on Museum Mile, GGA!!!!

  6. Shannon says:

These shoes are adorable, and I absolutely love that they’re recycled. The best vegan shoes are usually out of my current budget, so winning a pair would be fantastic! I could wear on interviews & spread the word! :)

  7. Kristi Dawn says:

I would love to have this. I shared this on FB.

  8. Julia Orr says:

I LOVE Beyond Skin but they are way beyond my current, boring unemployed budget but these shoes would make my life sparkle again and give me a boost in more ways then one. I am a total vegan shoe addict please help me with my addiction.

  9. Devika Srivastava says:

I would love to win the Beyon Skin Herringbone Laceups! Why you ask? The biggest reason to me would be wearing something stylish and getting to explain that you can be mod and vegan (not to mention the importance of being ethical and super green )! Added benefits are that they are Super Super Super cute and mod for the fall/winter, wearable, made from bottles (and that they match most of my Matt and Nat bags), also I have no income at the moment so this would be nice when things are tight :)

  10. Naomi says:

    Did both, crossing my fingers!

  11. Jen says:

I was just telling my BFF this morning that my New Year’s resolution was to get out of my (what she calls man shoes, but what I call comfort shoes)and learn how to walk in heels.

She said good luck with that.

I think these would be ideal shoes to accomplish my goal. Let’s make her eat her words. :o)

    I tweeted about it.

  12. Kristiina says:

I tweeted and tumblred. I would like to win them because I can’t afford to buy them :)

  13. Claudia says:

    Dear Beyond Skin & GGA,
I’d absolutely love to win the shoes but just as much, I’d love to know what to do with all the bottle-tops that I collect, as you can’t recycle them along with the plastic bottles they come from (although most people don’t seem to realise that and leave the tops on). I take them off religiously and, up until a couple of months ago, I had been taking bags of them to LA with me every time I went on holiday as Aveda stores in the US collect bottle tops for recycling. Unfortunately, they don’t do it in their London stores. My mum also collects hers and between us, over the last couple of years, we have collected a mountain of them to the point the local Aveda store started giving me fre samples as a thank you! But – I’m not going to be going back to America for a while, so what to do with them now?! I’d love to see “bottle-top banks” at the recycling centres next to the bins where people drop off their bottles so that they can also recycle the tops separately. In the meantime – Beyond Skin, can we send them to you?!
    Best vegan wishes,
    Claudia

  14. Elle says:

    delicious!

  15. Kayla says:

Love these! I’d love to win some and show them off to non-vegan non-believers that vegans can wear neat shoes. LIKE-d and tweeted @kaylamcoleman.

  16. Amy says:

These are so beautiful and I just Love that they are cruelty free! I think its wonderful that they’re recycled too! Who would believe old pop bottles could look like that!

  17. Roxane says:

I just retweeted this, and obviously I would love to win these shoes :)

  18. Louise says:

I have spent many an hour staring at the beautiful shoes on the Beyond Skin site. I am desperately trying to solely purchase ethical clothing and accessories, but as a cheap student it is often a real struggle. Instead I opt for sending links of Beyond Skin to my friends and family around Christmas and my Birthday.
I would be over the moon if I won such a lovely pair of kicks!
    Thanks

  19. brenda says:

Liked and posted. Those shoes are gorgeous! I’d be the belle of the ball at any holiday party this season. I also love that they’re made from recycled plastic bottles.

  20. Homa says:

    Tweeting it right now…

  21. Lisa says:

I lOVE these shoes!!! I have re-tweeted this cuz everyone should see how cute these shoes are, besides they would make a great addition to the fall wardrobe.

  22. Sara Farr says:

These shoes are crazy cute! I decided to go totally vegan not long ago, but am forced to continue wearing a lot of my leather shoes. On a graduate student budget I don’t have a lot of wiggle room for new clothes. As I work hard to get my masters in planning so I can make the world a better place (cliche but true) it would be great to know that what was on my feet didn’t hurt any animals, was more eco friendly than leather and just plain fabulous.

  23. Vanessa says:

vegan law student cramming for finals and searching for jobs–would love a little skip in my step.

  24. sally wess says:

i liked as well as tweeted
