Dry Brushing To Get Rid Of Cellulite And Toxins In One Sweep

We dispose of 1 pound of waste every day via our skin. Dry brushing with a natural fiber brush is a great way to improve circulation and to help our skin and lymphatic system move toxins (and yes, cellulite) out of our bodies.

Lymph is the clear liquid that oozes from your skin when you cut yourself. There are many different theories on which direction one should brush. The lymph moves against gravity so brushing toward the heart makes sense to me. PUMP IT OUT!!! See diagram below.

Brush in long, gentle, strokes toward the heart. Begin at the bottom of your feet, moving up the front and back of the legs, thighs, butt, abdomen, hands, arms, arm pits, neck, chest, and back. Do this before you hop in for your daily morning shower and soon you will notice a beautiful difference in your skin, your glow, and your overall feeling of health.

Natural Health Techniques tells us; Dry brushing cleans the lymphatic system. Lymph is considered part of our immune system and is made of white blood cells called lymphocytes and the interstitial fluid that bathe our cells, bringing our cells nutrients and removing their waste. All detoxification occurs first and foremost through the lymph. Our bodies contain far more lymph than blood, so you can see how important this might be. Paavo Airola maintains that dry brushing is an essential part of any intestinal cleansing and healing program.

Natural Health Techniques advises to finish up your regular shower with three hot and cold cycles. That means turning on the water as hot as you can take it for several seconds, then as cold as you can handle it, then hot, then cold for three cycles. End with either hot or cold. This will “further invigorate the skin and stimulate blood circulation, bringing more blood to the outer layers of the skin. ” After getting out of the shower, dry off vigorously and massage your skin with pure plant oils such as olive, avocado, apricot, almond, sesame, coconut or cocoa butter. Add a little peanut and Castor oil to the mix if you have arthritis.   Also, be sure to clean your skin brush using soap and water once a week.   Dry your skin brush in an open, sunny spot to prevent mildew.   It will take about 30 days to see and experience the changes. Please be patient and keep up the program! For a thorough lymphatic cleansing, perform skin brushing daily for a minimum of three months.
