While phonies air-kiss and fur coats mingle in coat check, there is another game in town during New York Fashion Week… and it’s called THE GREEN SHOWS, aka Eco Fashion Week. Now, don’t get us wrong.. plenty of fur hags (many who call themselves greenies) stalked these shows too, and most of these designers still showed wool and silk and leather. But there was an element of gentle shifting in the air as Vaute Couture‘s vegan coats came strutting down the runway, and cruelty-free Cri De Coeur heels graced the feet of the the tall and hungry. A change is in the air. And it looks mahvelous, dahling.

(From L to R) at the Vaute Couture runway Show; Princess Superstar, Michael Parrish DuDell (Ecorazzi), a very pregnant Chloe Jo Davis (GirlieGirl Army), and Magda Rod (Visionairy Boutique)
Here are some of the green designers you’ll want to know about in 2010;

Amazing! I remember when I was working for Angela Lindvall’s eco foundation “Collage” (collagefoundation.org) back in 2001 and NONE of this existed. Amazing to see what a decade brings.
Beautiful clothing! Wow!
So beautiful! Love the Vaute Couture coat! And the Deux FM. And, as always, Cri de Coeur. Hotter than hot.
That coat! Those shoes! <3 <3
I love me some Princess Superstar! What an inspired showing of truly original work. I want it all!
Love everything here!
I loved the Uluru but couldn’t find an up-to-date website or any place really that sells their work.

Chloe xoxoxo:)
Until now, I never knew there was even a “green fashion week.” That’s fab! Shopping for fashion is so green (fresh and good) its not just buying a random outfit for oneself, but also doing it for a good cause. Loves it!
P.S. Congrats..mom?! Stay sweet and beauty!
