A Vegan Passover Menu

Think having a vegan seder is hard? Not so with these fantastic recipes and using this haggadah which is explicitly plant-based, and by following your ethos to a meal free of the same cruelty inflicted on Jews when we were slaves in Egypt. Let kindness rule at your seder this year! A compassionate life begins with what you choose to put on your plate and feed your family. Try some of Stephanie Dreyer’s vegan recipes to get your menu going;

A Sample Vegan Passover Menu

I love the timing with Spring and the order to the meal.  It is a chance for me to showcase the plant-based foods that enrich my life.  For me, it is truly a celebration of food and my choice to convert to Judaism 10 years ago. I take great pride in planning my Seder meal and am excited to share this sample Passover menu with you.  I hope it inspires a delicious vegan Passover feast on your table!

Vegan Chopped Liver by Jewish Food Hero

In addition to hummus and vegetables, try this traditional appetizer from Jewish Food Hero, which uses mushrooms and walnuts instead of liver.  Serve it with celery and matzoh to nosh on during your Seder.

Matzoh Ball Soup

This recipe from Mayim Bialik’s cookbook, Mayim’s Vegan Table, is my favorite matzoh ball soup recipe.

Herbed Lentils

Herbed Lentils

This recipe is easy and delicious.  Using bright, green herbs and freshly squeezed lemon juice, it ushers in the smell and taste of Spring. Grab the recipe here or use

Quinoa Patties

Observant Ashkenazi Jews don’t eat soy, corn, or beans during Passover, so these quinoa patties are a great option for a main course during the meal.  By veganizing this recipe with Follow Your Heart’s VeganEgg and Daiya cheese, you get all the flavor of these patties without the animal products!

Caprese Chopped Salad

This colorful salad uses baby heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, and nut cheese.  It is a light side that complements the other herbs and flavors of this menu nicely.
