RIP Molly Anderson Of Madeleine Bistro

RIP Molly Anderson: Vegan, Gourmand, Activist, Mother, Wife, Friend to All.

Beautiful Molly Anderson of Madeleine Bistro (incredible vegan food in Los Angeles) has unexpectedly passed away. She was a Mother of 4, a wife of David, and a longtime activist and angel for animals. Before it was cool to serve gourmet vegan food, Dave and Molly opened their own place together and served the masses culinary taste explosions (I’ve still never had food as good as David’s!) Molly was pure sugar, sweet as could be – but fun and sassy. She looked like a cool teenager – so it was hard to believe some of her kids are teenagers!

Molly Anderson’s funeral service is going to be held this FRIDAY, October 24th at 1pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Northridge followed by a reception in the same location 18400 Kinzie Street Northridge, CA.

Noelle Benvenut, Molly’s daughter shared her story, and a plea for donations to the family;

On 7:53 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2014, I received a call from my frantic 16 year old sister begging me to come over because my mom was not breathing. I drove fast, but ultimately, not fast enough. My mom suffered from asthma for over a decade, but to lose such an extraordinary woman to something so ordinary feels wrong. She survived teen pregnancy, the loss of my biological father, and drug addiction, and went on to meet and marry her soul mate David Anderson, raise three more children, and start a business. She survived financial hardships and a myriad of health issues, and I truly believed there was nothing in this world that could bring her down. Her life was not an easy one, but rather than shy away from challenges, my mother sought them out and overcame them. She was a force to be reckoned with, and possessed a fire within her so strong, you could almost feel the heat.

She was passionate. Fearless. Brave. Resilient. Selfless.

She was the glue that held my family together, our identity intrinsically tied to her. I am Molly’s daughter, we are Molly’s family, and not only are we left struggling to figure out how to get by without her, but we are also left struggling to figure out who we are without her.

From the overwhelming support my family has received over the past few days, I know we are not the only ones who mourn her. She touched so many people, from so many different walks of life, and always put those she loved before herself.

In honor of the woman who was my inspiration, role model, and best friend, I’m setting up a memorial fund to give anyone interested in offering support an opportunity to help our family during this devastating time. Proceeds will go towards the service and life after Molly.

There are four kids to support here, please give a bit if you’ve ever enjoyed Dave & Molly’s food and hospitality. And attend the funeral and show your respects if in the Los Angeles area.

Everyone that knew her wants her to get the true send-off that she deserves. This is what she and her family deserve, especially after all the heartbreak that they persevered through recently. I know that when her family look through some of the most beautiful caskets for sale that they will find the one that Molly would’ve loved to have had. Although, I know in my heart of hearts that they will just want her to be comfortable – this is what they want above everything else. So, please, donate if you can and come and pay your respects to a remarkable lady who we’ve all had the privilege of knowing.

Molly – you are an original GirlieGirl – strong, resilient, mothering, kind, the hardest worker — and you inspired us all with your massive propensity to love. Our thoughts and prayers go to the Anderson family, and our thanks to all their years of work towards a more compassionate world. May they now receive the same support and compassion from the community they so tirelessly supported.
