“With this collection, I wanted to design for an urban woman with a sense of nature,” says Allison Smith, the visionary behind eco line Pillar.
“I mean, who wouldn’t want both worlds?” asks Allison. “This woman appreciates style, but also cares about the environment. She works in the heart of it all, but savors weekends away with local organic wine at her summer home!”
Allison’s favorite is the Seashore Dress ($188) available in natural linen and kelp: “It is the ultimate flattering summer dress with gathers at the bust, a waist-emphasizing full skirt, and straps that cover the bra.”
With a palette of neutral tones like slate, sand and charcoal, Pillar is sure to be a staple in your wardrobe this season. Shop Pillar by Allison Wonderland online or at boutiques across North America. Prices range from $87-$194, which for these well made pieces, is a steal.

Love this, wish I was a woman so I can have it. Or at least a cross dresser
wow – a skirt made from seaweed that comes in a color called “kelp”? adorable!!! the fact that the skirt itself is so adorable doesn’t hurt, either :) i love it!
This skirt looks so comfortable and would surely come in handy in St. Augustine!
I love that skirt … You sea weed be perfect together.
So pretty! Urban style that is easy to wear and looks effortlessly amazing! A summer staple for sure,
This skirt is fantastic! Love the color and the pockets. (plus, I was glad to hear Allison Smith’s take on the straps on the Seashore Dress! So sick of spaghetti straps and not being able to wear supportive bras! Bravo, Allison!) I will definitely be checking this brand out. Thanks for the heads up, GGA!
awesome skirt. it will be like wearing favorite food :)
I just moved out by the sea to Los Angeles, and this marvelous seaweed skirt would be super chic and comfortable for me! Love it!
I just want to eat it up!
I love any skirt that has pockets!!
I am a sucker for cute skirts! Love!
Kelp
by Jeffrey Yang
How easy it is to lose oneself
in a kelp forest. Between
canopy leaves, sunlight filters thru
the water surface; nutrients
bring life where there’d other-
wise be barren sea; a vast eco-
system breathes. Each
being being
being’s link.
This skirt would be perfect for a presentation I’m giving at a conference in April! It’s professional but fashionable. Plus I would feel good about wearing it!
I am water. all eternal.
You needn’t look for me; I am everywhere
a hidden wellspring flowing visceral to quench your inborn thirst,
salted sea & kelp to lay your weary head; cool froth that brings sturgeon to feed your belly,
I move freely and shape the earth in perfect harmony with the air.
I am water.
I love this skirt! And the name and the contents help to save the planet too! I love saving the planet, especially while wearing a cute skirt!
I live most of the time in the Bahamas due to my fiancee’s work and I’m always looking for eco-wear that is cute, comfy and island friendly. This skirt would be perfect and with my olive tone…it would look great! <3 Pillar now, thanks for introducing the brand! xo
This is great as a gift to my teen who wants to embrace veganism but is afraid of fashion.
adorable skirt!
i am your follower!
Love the dirndl style!
And Allison Wonderland and Pillar are made in Vancouver, Canada!
She really makes very good stuff you will have for years unless you wear it out cuz you love it so.
Its so cute! I actually haven’t purchased a skirt in 10 years! I think its time to not wear jeans everyday.
in the early morning fading night,
the tempest soon recedes,
and in its wake it leaves behind
the ocean’s lingering leaves.
grassy tendrils streak the sandy breach
and wave towards shores unknown,
longing for the deepest sea
their bottomless, bluing home.
This skirt is so darn cute, I would rock it with a beautiful necklace and tight tee
lovely!
Adorable! The kind of skirt that would be perfect for any body shape or type. The perfect girlfriend skirt, as in, my girlfriends are gonna love to borrow this one!
Kelp my summer wardrobe out by letting me win this skirt.
That is super cute! I love that a new kind of material is being used! I’ve never heard of it before! (Save for on the ocean floor and beach that is!)
Holy guacamole! Not sure to eat it or wear it! Both seem so appropriate!
Pockets make anything more appealing!
I would love to wear this skirt. I have a top to match this.
This skirt is amazing everyone tells me I dress bland but this will be able to show just because you’re vegan doesn’t mean it has to be that way.
I love this skirt, but not just because it is beautiful, eco-friendly, and looks more comfortable to wear than most things I own. I love this skirt because it has pockets! My 2-year old goddaughter is always finding nature’s treasures (rocks, leaves…lumps of dirt) and wants to put them in my pockets for safe keeping. The skirt is perfect for her discoveries!
Who doesn’t like kelp?
If I win this adorable skirt, I will wear it while walking around the city with Kennedy (my companion animal who’s quite stylish himself) and I’ll be sure to tell everyone how cool & eco-friendly this line is. The pockets will be great for treats (Kennedy agrees). Thanks for thinking about the earth when designing it!
I love seaweed, so I should win this!!
Super cute! I can keep seashells in the pockets. :)
