Woodstock Sanctuary Opens Eco-Friendly B&B!

Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary is one of our favorite places in the world.  It’s a sanctuary for rescued farm animals who have lived through unspeakable horrors to find love again in the form of the beautiful people who run this magical place, Jenny & Doug Brown.  We just attended their ThanksLIVING event where the turkeys are the guests, not the main dish (you can see the adorable photos here) and fell in love with the place all over again.

But here is the big news:

An anonymous donor has bought WFAS the next door home which is now open (after extensive renovations all summer long!) as a  B&B.  It’s all eco and cute, and just begging for numerous weekend visits.  Go with the kids and shovel some hay, enjoy the trees turning color, and feel alive in the country. Or rent out the whole house (you can rent by room too) for a birthday weekend for your honey. We don’t need to tell you how awesome Woodstock (the town) is – but we will anyway – it’s flooded with precious boutiques, cafes, charm, and loads of nature!  Now you can 2-in-1 your weekend, do some mitzvahs by helping out at the sanctuary (or just go visit and rub some cow tummies) and see some music in the most legendary musical town in the world! The profits earned by the  B&B go to directly to the care of their 200+ rescued farm animals and towards advocacy work on behalf of farmed animals everywhere.

Your view from the front porch!

The Guesthouse currently offers a hearty, serve-yourself vegan continental breakfast, the restored luxury of claw foot tubs with showers, free WiFi, live rooster “alarm clocks” next door with all of the other wonderful rescued farm animal friends just steps away! You won’t believe the view from the covered porch where you can kick back and watch the sunset on rocking chairs with spectacular views of the Catskill Mountains and happy animals roaming in the foreground. It’s quite a view.
