Pamela Anderson is a long time friend to animals and an ethical vegan. She now has created a line of vegan-made boots similar to her once-beloved UGGs, called Pammies.

Long and short winter boots that are cozy, but still look great, are the vibe of the line. They range in price from $299-445 and come in a few different styles and 5 colors.

“I’m excited about my boots coming out, which you know has been this labor of love for me because I made those darn UGG boots popular,” she tells PEOPLE. “I didn’t know that [animals] were being hurt. [UGG] used me a lot for promoting, but I helped them create their brand … I thought that [the animals] were being shaved and kept well. That was the beginning of my animal activism career, and since then I’ve been trying to create an alternative.”

And it looks like Anderson’s next career as a designer is taking off.. she’s also launching a line of summer shoes and beach totes with Amélie Pichard.

I like Pamela Anderson but I wouldn’t exactly call her a designer since her boots look almost identical to UGGS which were designed by someone else. Also the price is too high for people with an average income and completely out of reach for those with a below average income. Sad that the product will be exclusively for the wealthy. If the products were more affordable, it would be one less excuse for people to say buying vegan is too expensive. They can get leather products for much less!

Thank you for giving us an Ugg alternative that is cruelty free!! Xoxo :)

Adorable! They are a great cruelty friendly alternative to uggs!!! They actually are designed by Pam and designed well! They are not a cheap shot at an imitation ugg…they not a “knockoff” of uggs. They have a more streamlined and evolved look, than uggs and can actually be more dressed up than uggs!

For anyone complaining that they are too high a price for people with an average income and out of reach for those with a below average income. I never thought uggs were affordable for the average income either and yet people saved up for them if they wanted them badly enough. If someone likes the cozy look and cuteness of uggs but not the cruelty, of course they can buy cheaper knockoffs…the soles usually fall off after a season of cold wet weather…but if they are serious about veganism or cruelty free clothing and quality they may just want these.
    Nice job Pam!!! :-)
