RECIPE OF THE WEEK

Award-Winning Veggie Burgers

(graciously shared by GirlieGirl Army reader Danielle, who has made these Veggie Burgers for us, and trust us – they are yummo beyond). Click here for two of the best recipes you’ll ever stuff your face with. You will fool carnivores with these burgers.

&

Pineapple Banana Ice Cream
Ingredients: 2 frozen bananas, 2 cups frozen pineapple, 2 cups vanilla soymilk or other nut milk, 1/2 cup sugar or agave nectar. Directions: In a high-powered blender, add all ingredients. Blend on highest speed until there are no more chunks of frozen fruit (1-2 minutes). Scoop into bowls, sprinkle some cinnamon on the top, and enjoy! (Note: You can freeze it, but it becomes a little icy – it’s best eaten fresh).

EVERYWHERE: NEVER THROW OUT A THING AGAIN!

Thanks BUST for this tip: Ladies, if you are not already recycling your old clothes start doing it! Wearable Collections, a nonprofit that places clothing collection bins in residential buildings around New York City is a great and easy option for repurposing your discarded frocks. And for those of us who are intensely lazy it is super easy. Get your building manager on board and fill out the incredibly simple web form to request a bin for your building! If you are not on speaking terms with your super there are also forms to notify them via email that you would like your building to participate in Wearable Collections. From there they do all the work for you, bringing you a bin and doing a clothing pick-up once a week. They also have a great option for charities. They will help you organize a clothing drive and then buy all the clothes collect! Giving you $$$ for your cause! Visit their website at http://wearablecollections.com/index.php.

EVERYWHERE: We are in need of a private plane transport of a 4 week old puppy from Anchorage, Alaska to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the care and treatment required to sustain him until our surgeon is able to repair his birth defects. The pup was born with a cleft palate, cleft lip and nasal / facial deformities. He needs special handling when feeding, so ground transportation is not feasible in this case. He has a compromised immune system so he requires minimal exposure to environmental changes. We cannot opt for the regular airlines since the pup is far too young and without vaccinations. Private air transport is going to be this little guy’s best bet! Please contact me at mom2babynatalie@aol.com if you can assist! THANK YOU!!

EVERYWHERE: MTV SHOW CASTING - I’m Competitive with My Friends”

Do you feel like you’re in constant competition with a friend or friends, and it’s all coming down to one final contest in the near future? Is every outing, game, exam, or party another chance to one-up each other? Are other people always comparing you to each other? Has it gotten to the point where you can’t be around each other without competing? Does it seem like the situation is driving you apart and that your friendship might not survive the final competition? If so, MTV wants to hear from you. If you appear to be between the ages of 16 and 28, and you are in an intense competition with a friend or friends–with a big test, contest, game, or other turning point on the horizon–email us at competitive@mtvn.com with all of the details or you can call 310-482-1778. Tell us when and how your competitive sides come out, whether it be on dates, during sports, at auditions, at work, at school, or elsewhere.
